VMware Workstation Player, formerly VMware Player, was a virtualization software package for x64 computers running Microsoft Windows or Linux, supplied free of charge by VMware, Inc. In 2023, VMware was bought by Broadcomm, and in 2024, Workstation Pro became freeware for personal use and Player was discontinued, however, requiring an account to download the former.
